Resources - where to look for puppy guidance

There is a large amount of dog training advice available, an internet search can sometimes be overwhelming. It is hard to know where to begin. Below is a list of my go to resources for clients.

You Tube

Kiko pup - great and easy to follow training videos

Train me please - great short videos with explanations for lots of commonly asked dog behaviour questions.

Books

The Power of Positive Dog Training by Pat Miller - This is one of the first books I read and remains a favourite recommendation for clients. The information is easy to follow, there is a week by week guide on what to teach your new puppy along with trouble shooting tips. Equally as valuable for training your adult dog.

Puppy Socialisation - What it is and How to do it by Marge Rogers and Eileen Anderson - Everything you need to know about socialisation in dogs, practical tips and links to video demonstrations. A great introduction to this vital and often misunderstood part of puppy raising.

Canine Enrichment for the Real World - Emily Strong and Allie Bender - Guidance on enriching your dogs world. Why you should and how to do it.

Web Resources

Puppy Biting - this article is packed with information on the puppy biting stage, a must read.

Dog Body Language - a fun poster to help you become familiar with doggie body language.

The Family Dog - a great resource for those juggling kids and dogs
